    • Ben shu suo ding Riben di guo tong zhi zhi xia de Taiwan, bing tong shi han gai di guo zhu yi yu zhi min di zai di guan dian de yan jiu shi jiao, yi ji jiang zhi min di de wen hua zhuang kuang dang zuo shi di guo zhu yi yu zhi min di zai di guan dian de xiang hu zhi she yu xiang hu jiao die de jie guo. Shu zhong yi tao lun de cai liao yu nei rong qu fen, fen bie yi "shi jian yu kong jian yi shi de miao tu", "zhi shi yu zhi shi she qun de miao tu", "yi shu yu qing gan jie gou de miao tu" wei zhu ti.
    • 本書鎖定日本帝國統治之下的臺灣, 並同時涵蓋帝國主義與殖民地在地觀點的研究視角, 亦即將殖民地的文化狀況當作是帝國主義與殖民地在地觀點的相互指涉與相互交疊的結果. 書中以討論的材料與內容區分, 分別以 "時間與空間意識的描圖", "知識與知識社群的描圖", "藝術與情感結構的描圖" 為主題.
