Summary note
This fascicle of the CSIR deals with funerary stelae and funerary altars from the urban area of Flavia Solva (CSIR IV 3). It addresses first of all general questions, such as the boundaries of the territory of Flavia Solva and the sites, as well as the material, of the funerary stelae and altars. Further fundamental questions are addressed in chapters on the typology and iconography of the stelae or altars, as well as in an overview of the people named in inscriptions and their status, for which Ingrid Weber-Hiden is responsible. She has also dealt with epigraphic issues in a catalog of funerary stelae and altars. The catalog is structured by form, since a chronological order is difficult. This book also includes a subject index, a name index, an index of find spots and of the forms of the monuments, as well as an index of museums and remaining locations.
