Summary note
Dit najaar toont Museum Arnhem met Millennials werk van tien kunstenaars, de meesten behoren tot de generatie die in de media Millennials wordt genoemd: geboren na 1980. Millennials worden getypeerd als jongeren die oppervlakkig en egocentrisch zouden zijn, vergroeid met mobieltje en de social media. Bestaat "de" MiIlennial echt of is het louter een marketingkwestie? Hoe relevant zijn afgebakende leeftijdsgrenzen? De huidige media-aandacht voor Millennials inspireerde tot de titel en het uitgangspunt voor deze tentoonstelling: hoe verhouden kunstenaars zich tot de wereld om hen heen? Te zien zijn videowerken, ruimtelijke installaties en performances van zowel nationale als internationale kunstenaars. De deelnemende kunstenaars zijn: Melanie Bonajo (1978, NL), Lado Darakhvelidze (1977, GE), Priscila Fernandes (1981, PT), Thomas Kuijpers (1985, NL), Christina Lucas (1973, ES), Taus Makhacheva (1983, RU), Inge Meijer (1986, NL), Sachi Miyachi (1978, JP), Aldo Esparza Ramos (1986, MX) en Urok Shirhan (1984, IQ).
