    Summary note
The paintings and drawings of Jongsuk Yoon (b. Onyang, Korea, 1965; lives and works in Dusseldorf) combine the European tradition of craftsmanship in painting with an Asian formal vocabulary and aesthetic sensibility. She is especially interested in man's peculiar position between nature and culture and how art illustrates this. Materials she collects play a crucial role in Yoon's creative process, spurring the production of new works.
