Summary note
There are two files, one with annual data from 1900-1959, and the other with annual data for 1960-1979. The 1900-1959 file excludes persons living in Hawaii and Alaska and members of the armed forces stationed overseas. For that time period, the race groups are white/non-white, and the top age is 75 and over. The 1960-1979 file includes persons living in Hawaii and Alaska and members of the armed forces stationed overseas. The top age for that file is 85 and over, and the race groups are white, black, and other. The data are in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and the codebook is also available online.
