    Summary note
Mekas filmed this play about a Marine Corps prison on the stage of the Living Theatre after it had been closed down by the police for tax evasion. He and the cast slipped into the theater through a coal chute and made the film in five hours. The furious rhythms of the play convey the inhumanity of military discipline with the raw force of a battle document.
