    Summary note
Brings together 64 images ranging from the Amazon to Sao Paulo photographed in the 1970s, taken during the 40 year career of one of the greatest photographers in Brazil. His work appeared in major newspapers and magazines in the country. Born in 1950 in Santo André, Sao Paulo metropolitan region, Peter Martinelli began his career as a photojournalist for The Sports Gazette and worked in The Globe, Look and Editora Abril. Famous for looking back to the immensity of the forest, came to the Amazon for the first time in 1970, in company with the Villas Boas brothers. It was this first contact with nature and indigenous people that began some of his most famous works.
