Notes
Wedding seranata probably composed for a wedding celebration in Frankfurt between 1713 and 1716.
For vocal soloists (SSATB), chorus (SSA or SATB), and orchestra.
Most of the music composed by Telemann; music in numbers 2 and 49, 4, 15, and 30 arranged by Telemann from music composed by Nicolas Racot de Grandval (1676-1753), Thomas-Louis Bourgeois (1676-1750 or 1751), Monsieur de F......., and Jean-Pierre Guinard (died 1753), respectively in Recueil d'airs sérieux et à boire de différents auteurs pour l'année 1713 (Paris : Christophe Ballard).
Original portions of the libretto in German by Telemann; French portions of the libretto from pre-existing sources with German translations by Telemann; it is unclear if the French portions were intended to be sung in French or German.
French portions of the libretto from text by Molière as it appeared in Lully's Divertissement royal (also known as Les Amans magnifiques), LWV 42 or Les Festes de l'Amour et de Bacchus, LWV 47, and from airs published in Recueil d'airs sérieux et à boire de différents auteurs pour l'année 1713 (Paris : Christophe Ballard).
Unfigured bass realized by Wolfgang Hirschmann.
Preface in German with an English translation; critical report in German.
Includes facsimiles of portions of the music manuscript sources (score: D-BSa, SA 1203; parts: D-ROu, Mus. Saec. XVII. 18.-51³²), printed airs used by Telemann from Recueil d'airs sérieux et à boire de différents auteurs pour l'année 1713 (Paris : Christophe Ballard), and the printed libretto (no publication information, from the Universitätsbibliothek Johann Christian Senckenberg, Frankfurt am Main, Mus. W 340).
