Summary note
Data are available for years from 1976 to 1993. Beginning 1994 the survey has been renamed to Survey of Family Income and Expenditure (SFEI). The survey employs a national sample of households selected by a two-stage stratified-random sampling scheme. A part of the sample households, aside from the interview, was also asked to perform account-keeping regularly. Sampled households were interviewed once a year for major items of income and expenditure incurred during the year. Conducted using a household questionnaire with individual socio-demographic characteristics for every household member and individual income information for income recipients only. Part of the interviewed households also keep a Diary Survey for Income and Expenditure items. Sampled households were selected based on a stratified-random sampling scheme. Data set contains disposable income, urban and rural income, farm and non-farm income, distribution of income, household consumption and savings, and characteristics of income recipients and housing.
