  • "The particularity of this manuscript is the presence of two different texts in the full score, while only one appears in the vocal part. The first text, which gives the motet its name, is the original one, containing the first four verses of Psalm 97. The second, presumably dedicated to the glory of Charles VI (1685-1740), Archduke of Austria and Roman Emperor, is an occasional text, doubtlessly written for the birthday of Saint Charles, the 4th of November, on the already existing score"--Unnumbered preliminary page 15.
